There is a a silent epidemic sweeping through our nation that claims an average of approximately 100+ young lives each week. It knows no social, racial or economic barriers. This silent epidemic is youth suicide! According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s 2015 Youth Risk Behavioral Survey over ONE out of every TWELVE young people in our nation attempted suicide in the previous 12 months. Wednesday night, April 11 from 6:00-7:30 PM Asbury Family Ministry will hold a Suicide awareness seminar just for parents. We will host Rev. John Hill who is a United Methodist pastor in Alexander City and is a Chaplin for the United States Secret Service. The seminar will address the problem of youth suicide, gives tools to help see signs in our kids and tools for prevention.
